Experience shows that the soft-tuned Faulhaber Rabbit Lamentation will produce good results, not only in areas where rabbits are indigenous, but also where they cannot be found. This is due to the fact that the rabbit and the hare lamentation are barely distinguishable and fox, marten and other predacious animals as well as birds react to any lamentation, as it indicates a chance for easy prey.

Rabbits, being smaller than hares, can be hunted by animals which would not have any chance to kill a hare. Areas with a population of rabbits are good hunting grounds as all predacious animals will be attracted by these relatively easy kills. Besides, more valuable game animals such as hare, pheasant and partridge will be spared accordingly. The rabbit lamentation is used in the same way as the hare lamentation.
